Larisa Ravitskiy, MD, is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, with clinical expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and managing skin cancers in transplant and other immunosuppressed patients. She is proud to provide high-quality care to patients at Ohio Dermatology Center in New Albany, Ohio.
After graduating cum laude from Barnard College at Columbia University with a degree in biochemistry, Dr. Ravitskiy was awarded a medical doctorate by the New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City.
She completed her dermatology residency at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she served as chief resident. She was then selected to participate in the Advanced Clinical Dermatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where she also completed a competitive Clinical Research Training Program.
Afterward, Dr. Ravitskiy completed a rigorous one-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, reconstructive surgery, and procedural dermatology under the nation’s premier cutaneous oncologists, Drs. J. A. Zitelli and D.G. Brodland, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Prior to founding Ohio Dermatology Center, Dr. Ravitskiy was the Assistant Professor and Director of Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at The Ohio State University. As a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, she is committed to pursuing life-long continued medical education and dissemination of this knowledge to her peers.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Ravitskiy has been recognized with scholarships and awards. Most recently, she was nominated twice for a prestigious Tromovitch Award by the American College of Mohs Surgery and served on the Women’s Health Task Force. She has presented at national and international meetings on various dermatologic surgery topics as well as authored numerous book chapters and papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Ravitskiy’s clinical expertise is in the surgical treatment of cutaneous malignancies, including Merkel cell carcinoma, melanoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, and selected cases of angiosarcoma. She is proficient in the reconstruction of facial and non-facial defects subsequent to cancer removal.
Ohio Dermatology Center is dedicated to cutaneous oncology patients who require Mohs surgery and those with selected cancerous and benign lesions requiring surgical treatment. Dr. Ravitskiy’s research interests are in clinical trials and translational research involving prevention as well as medical and surgical treatments of skin cancers.
